Frewin clinches club championship

Richard Frewin has clinched the club championship at Iver Golf Club & Academy despite a fine fightback from Satinder Sandhu.

Sandhu started the day 11 shots in arrears and, despite carding the best gross score of the day, he had to settle for second place seven shots adrift.

Frewin won the championship with a score of 170 while Steve Loosely (184) completed the podium positions in third. Sandhu claimed the two-ball prize on both days.

The Seniors Medal went to John Campbell with a nett score of 71 but on countback from Loosely. Keith Sawtell completed the placings on nett 75.

The September Senior’s Stableford was won by Bob Jenkins with 36 points, and he took home the two-ball sweep for good measure. Campbell was second on countback from Loosely.

Senior Captain Brian Walsh hosted a well attended Captains Day held in good conditions. Club captain Frewin came out on top with 40 points, eight ahead of Gurdit Virdee in second place.

As a result of his success, Frewin has earned himself a two shot handicap reduction.

Loosely completed the placings and Dennis Halford claimed the two-ball prize.

The September Medal went to Harjinder Dhardwar with a fine score of nett 67, and he also won the two-ball prize. Lindsay Slade was second with 68 points while Halford was in third pot.

Dhardwar also earned himself a two shot handicap reduction.
