Bob Jenkins wins Senior Medal

Bob Jenkins came in with a nett score of 66 to win the Senior Medal at Iver Golf Club & Academy, adding the two-ball prize along the way.

Dennis Green was second with nett 66.

Dennis Halford, aided by Lindsay and Toby Slade, plus Paul Sage won the Summer Scramble with nett 57. Gurdit Virdee, Fred Harrod and Peter Filler were in second place with nett 60.

Iver Vets are independent of the main club and meet every Tuesday. Any seniors looking for a game at reduced green fees will be most welcome.

Harjinder Dhardwar made it a double by qualifying for the U.P.C.C to be held at Woodhall Spa, having already qualified to appear at St. Andrews. He will be accompanied by Satinder Sandhu and Anthony Foster.

The July Medal went to Paul Maher with nett 67, one stroke more than he took in winning the June Medal. Steve Loosely and Sandhu made up the placings, while Ann Timpson was the Ladies Medal winner.

The Midweek Ivan Terry Open was won by Jenkins with a total of 39 points.

The Summer Shield was won by Dhardwar who finished two up against the course closely followed by Loosely and Green (one up).

The Two Flags Irene Foster Memorial Day was won by Maher with total of 38 points. Steve Cobb (36) was second and Timpson (33) took third plus the two-ball prize.

The June Senior Medal went to Chris Hosler with nett 69.

Dhardwar and Green qualified from the Western zone National Association of Public & Proprietary Golf Clubs finals held at Wyke Green. They will now have the honour and privilege of playing at St. Andrews in the National Finals.
